   Marcel Breuer
Marcel Lajos Breuer (1902-1981), Hungarian-born architect and furniture designer, was an influential designer, and a master of Modernism.
Breuer was one of the great pioneers of tubular-steel chair design, and as early as 1925 he had invented a series of systems employing continuously bent steel tubes to form the structural frames of stools, chairs and tables. He studied and taught at the Bauhaus in the 1920s, where he displayed an interest in modular construction and simple forms while a student, and stressed the importance of a combination of art and technology while teaching. Although Breuer clearly was concerned with creating great design, his interest also included the more practical concerns of product standardization and economical mass-production.
